Battery life near to the promised 10 hours on mixed, non-continuous use. "Just works". It should have a selectable restriction to not switch to 2G networks, though, as E-GPRS speeds are ridiculous. Observed this switching to 2G on T-Mobile US once or twice per day. Usually restart got it back to 3G right away.
During my trip to Europe, gave excellent speed on 4G networks (performance was like being on a wired line), and never degraded to 2G.
So it lost one star for restricted configurability and the fact that the freq bands don't support US 4G. Otherwise a great improvement over my earlier, max 4 hours lasting AP.
Waiting for the next, truly "universal" model...
Works great! Used in several areas in China in April. Shanghai, Hungzhou and Gunganzhou to name a couple. Just bought a sim at the airport. I hooked up 4-5 items to it with no problem. I just have to figure out how to use the data card I installed in it. Very good buy. Also holds charge for a long time.

I used this device with an AT&T Go Phone Prepaid SIM card in New York and New Jersey and Delaware in late March early April 2015. Device was providing net access to 3 phones and one laptop. It worked fine.
As the guy in AT&T store warned me, it works in 3G mode under AT&T network. APN is "broadband". Battery does not last as long as advertised, I had to support it using and external battery or Car Charger on the go.
One thing, it was showing 600 MBs left in my 2 GByte prepaid plan when service was interrupted all of a sudden. I checked AT&T web site and discovered that I has used all of the capacity in my 2 GB plan according to AT&T. I had to upgrade to a 5 GB plan.
Another thing, while travelling by car, sometimes I was losing internet access and in that case I had to turn off and on again to reacquire internet access although signal levels were OK at that time.
Works as described. I'm in Afghanistan and use it with Roshan, as our internet here sucks. I have a few issues, but I don't know if it's the router or the telephone company. When I connect it will go right to the 3G network, and sometimes after a while, it will go to the 2G, killing the speed. Might be Roshan.
I havent actually tried any alternative devices but the wifi coverage is quite weak, if i enter another room and close the door wifi reduces significantly, also if i walk away from it more than say 5 meters and am in a clear path the wifi signal reduces, the signal reception is however good, and i do not complain from anything else, purchase process was as always great from amazon.

It worked well but I have to have a technician change the configuration to be able to work in the different country.
i purchased this to replace my other hot spot in Afghanistan. It worked great but compared to the other hot spots here it worked at the same speed. I might need to give it a try in the states, unfortunately Afghanistan 3g is the best speed. Maybe it will work better in America!

Great build quality and solid feel. Nice to feel the weight of a capable battery inside. Only issue is that the face scratches easily but oh well. I carry it and my phone back-to-back in my pocket when out and about and no issues as long as I remember not to put anything else in there. The only issue with getting online was finding the correct APN code for the Mobile Internet provider I was using (AT&T -- it's "broadband" not what some other sites listed.) It worked flawlessly on a recent roadtrip from LV to SFO with good connectivity except for very remote areas that I already knew would not have coverage or reception (Death Valley, for instance.) Very happy with the device as a Canadian that often roadtrips through the US and looking to avoid steep mobile roaming charges by picking up a US SIM card. Also great to be able to keep my Canadian number for calls/texts but turn off Mobile Internet and only leave on Wifi.
Great product. I use this for traveling abroad and keeps my phone with data without paying the roaming high fees. The shipping was super fast! I do recommend this seller.
