I have had a Spigen case on my OnePlus 2 for more than 2 years, and simply love it. Good protection, looking very technical and professional, no issues with the screen protector, and great handling.
Just before our new iPhone Xs were delivered, I ordered this case together with 2 others made by Spigen (Rugged Armor and Ultra Hybrid), and 1 from Belk. The reason I ordered 3 from Spigen was, that I was unable to determine the real difference between the different models from the Amazon descriptions.
This case is the model I prefer over the other two Spigen cases. It is relatively thin and light, yet appears to provide good overall protection. The camera is embedded, the front lip is sufficiently raised. The look is not as classy as the OnePlus bumper, but still OK.
This case has two flaws that are also found on the other 2 Spigen models:
a) The material is relatively hard (significantly harder than the case for the OnePlus). The front lip therefore hurts my ear when making longer calls.
b) The cut-out is a little too small to accomodate the TOZO screen protector (which I consider to be the best screen protector on the market). The Spigen cases press from the outside onto the protector so that it is lifted from the display, resulting in worse respond, and the collection of dust between display and protector. However, it works well with the (much smaller) Maxboost protector that leaves a small gap in between the protector and the case).
So, what are the differences between the four Protectors:
Spigen Liquid Armor: Relatively thin, good protection from all sides, feels good in the hand
Spigen Rugged Armor: Thicker on the back side, slightly heavier; cut-out for the Apple logo
Spigen Ultra Hybrid case: Adds less thickness, while the edges and the display are equally protected, the rear side barely is. What I also disliked on the Ultra Hybrid case: You better clean the phone well before installation, and keep the rear "window" clean at all times, as it will look like a piece of crap otherwise.
Belk: The thinnest, lightest and softest of the 4 cases. Feels good in the hand and on the ear, and accomodates the TOZO screen protector. However, provides less overall protection than any of the 3 Spigen cases.
UPDATE: I got the case to fit on the XS. The case is pliable enough that you can press down on the part that sticks out around the bottom of camera. Basically, you’re forcing the plastic cutout to fit around the lens. Once I did that, the case works as before. I’ve not had any issues with it.
This case does not fit iPhone Xs. The cut out for camera and speaker holes are off - see attached pictures. And just like that, the back of case won’t sit flush, and a few of the speaker holes blocked.
I like the case, but get it if you have a X... look else where if you have the Xs.
It’s like I don’t even have a phone case. It’s a second skin. I have also dropped my phone way too many times and I never have any issues **knocks on wood**. The fit is perfect all the way down to the buttons. Also, it does not interfere with my wireless charging. The ports are great and it does not slip out of my hands. The small detail on the back make the case more interest and stylish.
This is the 5th case I've put on my iPhone X and by far the best. I have bought my girlfriend a number of Spigen cases and all of them have held up very well. I was looking for a case that provided more protection and a good grip because I can be somewhat clumsy, but I don't like to have a bulky case. My other phone cases have been slippery and when I would take the phone out of my pocket, I sometimes would feel the phone start to slip from my hand. This case has enough grip that I don't feel like I'm losing control of the phone, but It isn't so large, cumbersome, or grippy that I can't put the phone in my pocket or take it out of my pocket easily. Overall, I think Spigen hit a homerun with this case and I will be looking for this same case on any phone I purchase in the future.
Despite the negative and conflicting reviews that stated the case would not fit the XS, I decided to purchase anyway. I'm not sure why all the hate. While yes, the camera bump is not perfectly centered, its damn near close. Additionally, with the XS vs. X, the bottom speaker grill doesn't contain as many perforations and thus the case extends over unnecessarily. But...who.gives.an.S! Neither of these facts in any way leave the phone exposed to damage that would be otherwise remediated by redesigning the case to "fit the XS" specifically. I read one reviewer state they recommend waiting until Spigen redesigns for the XS. Why? What a waste of resources and time. I only wrote this review because of all the trolling against this fitting an XS and I can confirm, without a doubt, that's just not the case (pun intended). Cheers everyone!

Pros:
- tactile response on buttons is solid
- lip on the front of the phone protrudes enough to provide addition protection
- Spigen's screen protectors fit inside the case and provide good screen coverage. Here is the screen protector I purchased: Spigen iPhone X Screen Protector Tempered Glass [ Original Cutout ] 2 Pack for Apple iPhone X (2017)
Cons:
- Wish it had a bit more grip. Feels a bit slick, but at least it doesn't stick in my pocket... guess you can't have your cake and eat it too
This is an excellent case. Very think but has a bumper that is large enough to keep the glass face from touching a surface when it's laid down. The texture is just right for grip and still allows the phone to slide into your pocket/carrier/handbag without resistance. It's very good looking, as well. I've dropped the phone several times on hard surfaces with no damage to the phone or case. Very satisfied and would highly recommend the case.
I absolutely love this case, fits perfectly. I am loyal to Spigen for a reason, quality materials and build.
Excellent fit, raised lip around the top of the screen protects my XS even with a screen protector installed. The blue color is a subtle dark finish and holds well in my hands. The cross hashed finish on the back of the case I'm not sure if it has any benefit as you cannot feel the lines or shapes so don't believe it aids in any grip. One thing is that the speaker ports ARE both cut symmetrically on the bottom of the case and the XS speaker vents are not symmetrical on the phone, so there's tiny bit of exposed area which makes you question if its specific for the phone as the X had symmetrical speaker vents on the phone. Minor design decision... Its a good case, after nearly close to 2 months the entire case is a little smoother now from every day use and the cross hash pattern I don't believe has shown itself to be any feature other than visual on the phone.
This is an excellent case for the iPhone XS. The buttons have a nice tactile feel and the cutouts are done with precision. The case has nice feel to it but it's not too bulky and looks to have great protection against drops. Best of all the case fits the iPhone XS like a glove. For this price you get a quality case that can be used everyday or like me who also uses it during traveling and outdoor activities.
