Carhartt Men's Relaxed-Fit Washed Twill Dungaree Pant

The pants are a nice material and generally a good fit, although the waist runs about 1" smaller than usual and even slightly less than stated waist measurement. The only reason I don't give these pants 5 stars is that the knees have blown out on 4 pairs I've worn for daily workwear over the past year. I suppose that comfort means some level of durability is sacrificed, but if you actually use these pants for carpentry and "work" and wash them a couple times a week, then you will need to patch the knees to make the pants last more than about 6 months.

OK, so I'm short and fat. Why don't they make a 28" inseam on pants? These are very comfortable pants, almost feel like velour. There are lots of pockets and the material is light, not heavy like blue jeans. There is not a lot of seat room and at first I thought they would be low riders, but they are comfortable enough, just not deep like blue jeans. They ride more right on the hips.

For my waist size the shortest inseam was 30" and I'm only 5'7", so I have to roll them up. They're work pants for the garage and yard so I'm not going to have them tailored. Other than the length these are great warm weather work pants.

I'm giving this a 4/5 because most folks order the size they know fits. However as others have pointed out you want to order these on the larger size. I wear a 38/32 any day of the week. I ordered 40/32 but found they were slightly on the smaller size. Sure 40 fit but it fit me like a pair of 36 might fit (I wear 38 because I like it slightly loose). I knew to order larger but had to return the 40/32 and i'm getting a 42/30 now. Yes going to a 30 length because the length was longer then 32... it felt more like 34. Now they could make these longer because a lot of guys wear work boots with these, but I'm not. So a guy who normally wears/38/32 has to order 42/30. I believe that might fit... Otherwise it was a comfortable pair opf pants and I'm VERY picky with what I wear. The pockets could be deeper in my opinion. If a guys wearing Carhartt's he's going to want a nice deep pocket for his wallet.

I own several different styles of Carhartt pants and they all have one thing in common, they need to be sized up one size from what you normally wear in other brands. At least they are consistently off.

One item that is inconsistent is the cell phone pocket size. I purchased five Carhartt Men's Relaxed-Fit Washed Twill Dungaree Pants and of the five, only three of the cell phone pockets will accommodate my Motorola phone outfitted with an Otter Box cover. The other two pair of pants would not fit the phone for fear of ripping the seams.

These are great looking pants, comfortable and seem to wear well. Had the cell phone pockets all fit my phone, I would have rated these five stars.

I am constantly working with wood and metal, so I needed a pair of pants that can hold up because a pair of jeans only last me about 2-3 weeks before they are shot. Not only do these well outlast jeans, they don't get nearly as dirty or grungy looking. I was drilling some holes in some wooden stakes last weekend when I slipped and ran the drill bit into my leg. The pants twisted up but did not tear, and there was only few threads got pulled out of the material. I literally put the drill down and went inside and ordered two more pairs. Had I been wearing jeans I know I would have run that bit into my thigh. These things are tough. I wear 31x32, I'm 5'10 and 160lbs and these fit fantastic. Great Pants.

Great quality, excellent stitching. Soft but sturdy material. You can't ask for more. Love them, I just wish they added cargo pockets, but even now it's the best work pants I've had. I compered them to Wranglers , and as you can see on the picture, Wranglers of the same size one inch shorter( Wranglers are of very poor quality as well as sizing isn't true) . So I would definitely recommend to buy Carhartt. Very nice pockets as well.

It ticks me off that every company models pants on skinny little guys. I'm 6' tall, barrel-chested, and weigh 240 pounds. I'm not morbidly obese, but I'm not exactly "angular". These pants fit well, and don't spend all day falling off me (I don't have much of a butt, either. :-/ ). They seem well-made, and the material is soft. I don't work in the trades any more, but we don't wear suits at my workplace, either. I hope these last like the Carhartts of old.

Very nice and durable pants. Not for heavy, heavy duty, but tougher than cheap pants. Soft material, roomy without being too baggy. Even coloration. I ordered 2 pairs - an army green one and a dark coffee one. I ordered them based on the fact that the 2 pairs of shorts I ordered in my waist size 34, fit great. I received my pants, tried on the green ones and they fit just as expected. 3 for 3 so far, so good. So without trying on the dark coffee pair I washed them both. Big mistake. The dark coffee pair is too big in the waist. Now I have a pair of pants that I can't wear or return, because I had every reason to believe that they would fit and washed them. Always try them on first, yeah, yeah ,yeah..3 out 4 is not too bad, but minus 1 star for inconsistent sizing.

i found these serendipitously looking for work pants with pockets on both sides, these are hands down the most comfortable pants i have ever had,, they are like super soft,, almost like lounge pants , feel like velour , soooo comfy,, beats the hell out of work jeans or those tough and rough cotton duck,, im telling you buy these and you will never want to wear jeans again,,, they are awesome and look really good too. i have the green and dark coffee, i like the dark coffee better. think i will try some blue ones now.. im ordering more... my jeans can sit in the closet . o, im all about the comfort, they are so much warmer than jeans to me also. but not hot, just feel like you could sleep in them , hell ive fell asleep in the recliner with them all ready, dont understand why more people havent heard of them, if you like functional comfortable and tough ,, these will be all you want to wear. i just ordered more so i dont have to work in anything else.. color me spoiled.

I own several pairs of these pants, and generally speaking find them to be pretty nice. They are mid-weight, with a fairly nice fabric (nice dull evenly colored twill, not shiny or stiff). They are best for early autumn - spring, I personally find them a little warm during the summer. Several people have commented that they fit small, and to size up in the waist. My own experience has been pretty consistent that the actual waist fits well, but as someone with fairly muscular thighs, the legs are on decent but slightly on the slim side (I wish they were another 1/4-1/2" across each thigh when measured flat). I like them because I actually wear them both in an office setting (I removed the hammer loop and wear them with oxfords and sweaters), as well as in the shop setting (wood working and welding; if/when I ruin them, they are cheap enough to replace without much worry, but last well otherwise).
