KEEN Unisex Kid Newport H2 Sandal

KEEN Unisex Kid Newport H2 Sandal

KEEN Unisex Kid Newport H2 Sandal

I ordered Keen Seacamp and Newport in exactly the same size and color to compare, and pick the best fit for my 7yo.
Seacamp seems more slender, lighter and airier, and at a first glance, I liked it better than the heavier Newport. However, Seaport only has two straps for the elastic shoelace, and does not adjust to the foot as well as Newport, which has three straps.
Newport can be tightened all the way to the toes, providing a much better foot support for narrower feet.

After running loops around the livingroom in both pairs, my child said Newports were much more comfortable, and that's what we kept.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

PRICE: I am an adult woman who typically wears a size 8 shoe. I love that these Keen's for kids in a six fit my feet perfectly! I tend not to like the color options on a lot of women's shoes, and these brown and orange sandals are definitely my style! The kid's shoes, while often very similar in style to the women's, are typically a lot cheaper. I think I got these for just under $40 which is a fantastic price for such quality.

DURABILITY: I've had these shoes for a couple of years now and have worn them almost exclusively during the warmer months and they are still in great shape! I'll probably get a new pair this year, not because I actually feel like they need to be replaced, but just so I might try them in another color. I can't believe that they still look and wear almost exactly the same as when I first got them! (Well, I can - that's why we buy Keens, right?)

FIT: The fit on these is absolutely perfect. They are my "Goldilocks" shoes! Not too narrow, not too small, not too big, not too wide, just perfect.

VERSATILITY: I can do ANYTHING in these shoes!!! Hike through the creek and woods with my dogs? No problem. Exercising and training dogs at the shelter? No problem. Walking around the city all day? No problem. These have been through mud and woods and streams and they still look and feel amazing. My feet and legs and back are never sore after I wear them, even when I've had them on and been on the go all day!

The only thing about these shoes is that they can, like any shoes, get a little smelly. I usually will rinse them with warm water and vinegar once a month, and then every few days just sprinkle a bit of baking soda on the soles and problem solved.

Gosh, I love these shoes. Apparently, turtles love them as well? My brother had his turtle Crush out when I was visiting while wearing it and she "bee-lined it," (IOW, moved as fast as a turtle can move) and immediately tried to procreate with them, perhaps because they looked a little like her. You be the judge.

Great toddler shoes, but the sizing is completely off. Here’s a photo of my daughter’s size 5 Keen sneakers next to these size 6 sandals...so, order a size up. I also put these up to her other size 5 shoes, all made by different companies, and the size 6 sandals are indeed a size 5 in every other shoe.
For God sakes Keen, I love your shoes, but make your sizing consistent. I have adult Keens, and it’s the same problem. One size for sneakers, a size down for sandals, two sizes up for hikers, and sometimes my regular size fits. Who knows? I just keep ordering shoes of different sizes and hope for the best. Sheesh! Don’t you have some templates or something? Just an idea here, maybe use the same template per size?

I ordered these in Youth Size 4 (I wear an adult 5.5) to use on a trip to Oregon, which was to include a great deal of walking on the beach, hiking, and exploring. Due to a shortage of space in my luggage I had to decide between these and tennis shoes, and thanks to the advice of a friend took these. I put them on for the first time once I reached my destination and they were incredibly comfortable, there was no breaking in period. I wore them with socks when we were walking and hiking in dry areas (and the temps were quite cool) and without socks at the ocean. They worked great both ways! They are a wee bit wide but all it took was tightening the adjustable cord and they no longer moved around. The Velcro strap also can be tightened or loosened as needed. The color is so fun, without "screaming", and I don't feel they look like kid shoes. They worked well climbing on rocks to explore tide pools, steep paths (except mossy/wet rocks, which is understandable) and offered great support. I highly recommend them, I don't feel you can go wrong!

I ordered the Seacamp and Newport to see the difference. Both are very similar except for two things...the rubber covers the toe area more on the Newport compared to the Seacamp and the Newport has an overlapping strap, which might keep the shoe on better, but not sure. Ultimately I went with the Newport. I’d keep both though if I could! Seacamp would be an excellent shoe to get on and off quickly and both seem comfortable, soft and flexible. Once we use them this summer, I’ll give an update.

This supportive sandal can take anything a kid can dish out. An adjustable hook-and-loop strap lets kids put them on themselves, and quick-drying webbing is perfect in and out of the water.

Perfect!! I couldn't be happier with my purchase for my 1year old. He just started walking and has no problem in these shoes. I was afraid they'd be clunky like so many other shoes, but these are perfect. I bought him the size 4 and he's got a little room to grow.

Ok, have to wear kids shoes because, well ...bad genes and small feet. So kids shoes means lower price (yay!) auwful colors and patterns (not so yay .) But this color combo is great! Really cheerful and happy. These were my vacation shoes. Easy to wear out with jeans, or a causual mini. Supportive enough to walk around town, out on the trail or kayaking. Easy in and out to get through the TSA gate too. Had another pair in another color and wore them for for four years before the tread gave out. Just love these!

I have owned close to a dozen pairs of this style of Keen sandals for Big Kids. As a woman in her early forties with women's 7-7.5 foot, I find this shoe in Big Kids size 5 is the ideal fit for me. I hike and walk hundreds of miles in my Keens and never have foot pain. They are a joy! The pattern I chose here is a special edition design by artist Jennifer Mercede and they are especially fun to wear. The varied colors go with a surprising amount of my outdoor gear and casual clothing.

I own several pair of these shoes. I normally wear a women's size 8 and I get the youth size 6. They fir great on my somewhat wide feet. These shoes handle being in the water. They have much better support than a lot of shoes for summer. I also am glad they have some protection over the toes. I wear these shoes most of the time from spring through to fall. The thicker soles allow for walking in the river on rocks without worrying about huring your feet. They are comfortable and made very well. I Love this color.I would recommend KEENs to anyone, youg or old. Buy these shoes, you will not be disappointed.

LOVE THESE!!! I am a 43yr old woman who is 4' 11" and I normally wear a women's size 7 shoe. These fit perfectly!! I am a KEEN fan but the cost is a bit much for me often. I needed a sandal that had a wide toe and good cushioning and Purple is my fave color. What rocks about these over the adult Keen's (besides the price) is that you have separate adjustment at the ankle and that's what I needed since my ankle's swell sometimes and yet sometimes I have problems with my pinky toes and need things looser there. So the way these are designed I can make more adjustments to fit my comfort needs.

The only thing though is I like my heel area to be a bit more elevated so I'm not leaning back on my heels since I have bad knees due to arthritis but it was an easy fix, there was room enough for me to put in inserts.

I don't think they are quite as rugged as the adult ones but pretty dang close and for the price it's great.
