I have to be honest here. The case is just as good as a Pelican case, which is more expensive, but even at the current discount price of $60.00 (retail $90.00) it is still more expensive as Harbor Freights Apache 4800 that regularly goes on sale for $54.99. Combine that lower price, with their 20% coupon, and you have the same size case for $44.99. That is a significant savings.(I know the advertised specs, show the Monoprice case to be somewhat larger, but the foam inserts are nearly the same). The true being said, all these plastic cases are all over priced, but the Apache 4800 is by far the best value, it even has four latches instead of two, so one could argue that the Apache is more secure. Would I purchase a Monoprice case again? I would, if I needed a larger case than the Apache 4800, unless Apache expands their line to include a larger case, which they might do..Lastly, I am no fan of the pluck and pull foam..It makes for a poor jagged looking fit, and tears easily. I used Plasti-Dip, to increase the durability of the foam, but it will need to be replaced soon..For the price they should supply a high quality foam, and let the purchaser cut it to size him or her self.
I cannot, for the life of me, see any difference between this Monoprice case and the similar sized Pelecan case. It's perfect for all my cameras, lenses, flashes and accessories. And it's about $80.00 less.
This is a very nice case! I originally looked for a Pelican case as they are well known for quality. This case is just as good and far far cheaper. Same materials inside and out, same IP67 rating. Purchased for a Sky-Watcher Astrophotography kit that needs good protection from the elements. It has been camping and dropped... All good. This should last a long long time. Monoprice will be the next case I look for First when I need these features.
I needed a case for my Moza Air 2 gimbal and the cheapest options were the Moza case at around $120 or the Pelican case at twice the cost. I've decided to give Monoprice case a try and bought the 22"x14"x8" case. Similar to the Pelican case I own, you can tailor the inner foam to secure your device. I took the foam from the gimbal box that came with the gimbal, placed it inside the Monoprice case and padded the surrounding perimeter with the Monoprice foam. The gimbal is solid and secure! See photo.
The construction seems solid and provides all the protection I'll need to carry my gimbal with a piece of mind from one gig to another. My initial review is a solid five stars!

I purchased this case from Amazon Prime for my Leica shooting range scope. The case is well built...with very rugged construction able to with stand significant damage while protecting the interior contents. Use tooth picks to outline the profile of your equipment before cutting the "cut 'n pull" pre-scored foam with a sharp knife. See YouTube for instructions on how to do this effortlessly. Save some of the removed foam for future changes. See my photos. Enjoy!
Excellent hard case for camera equipment. I was concerned it might be made of cheap plastic or poorly designed but it really is a solid case with strong sturdy exterior corners/body, and tight hinges and latches that seem like they will last a long time. I've bought cheaper imitations where the latches and hinges break pretty fast on the road. This is made in China but as for shock and damage protection it seems just as good a Pelican and is made of similar plastic.
This case is rated as weatherproof and has a really nice, insulated rubber seal liner and an air release dial for air pressure. The outside of mine says "Pure Outdoor" instead of Monoprice but that doesn't bother me just an FYI.
For the price, build quality, and size I would buy this again and will be buying more of different sizes for other gear.
IF you do shows and have a booth - this case will hold everything you need to set up a booth with. It holds the drapes, the table cover, all the booth needs, electrical cords, print outs, holders, supplies...and it holds up and rolls - shipping it there and back it a breeze and you know you will get it back....unlike lost boxes. It simplifies your shipping into one package and is waterproof and actually hard to destroy...Great buy!
I am writing this review after almost a year owning these cases. I own three of the Monoprice cases and love them. They are built solid and keep whats inside protected and dry. That's exactly what I expected out of them and they delivered! I will be buying more soon.
The only MINOR flaw so far is the Monoprice labels fell off all of them in the first few weeks. But If I cared I suppose I could just glue them back on.
If you're considering these cases just hit the buy button. You will not be disappointed.
All in all this is a great case. If fits my yamaha dtx multi 12 drum pad unit with the mounting base UNATTACHED. However, the unit did require me to remove almost all the foam front to back, leaving just the 3/4" wall of the foam left. This caused the foam become flimsy and move away from the wall of the case. Also, the pressure knob on the front extends to the inside of the case and juts out just a little bit. Since I had to remove all of the foam except for the thin wall and the foam wouldn't stay in place, this part of the pressure release would rub against the unit. To solve these problems I put a very small amount of glue on the inside of the case for the foam to adhere to (have to be careful of the chemicals of glue and how they will react inside a sealed space). The latches on the case are great as well as the handle; the plastic body is also well made. I can't blame the company for the tight squeeze with my unit but I do wish the foam would stand more firmly against the wall of the case. All in all, a great alternative to having to buy the $100+ custom SKB case.
