Aeromax, Inc. Get Real Gear Youth NASA Astronaut Helmet, White

This was so much fun for halloween. My son was an astronaut...costume from Pottery Barn. I hot glued the visor so it wouldn't open and made a handle so it could be a treat "bag" for trick or treating, It was very cool.

yes, it IS flimsy and the cool stickers are just that stickers, even starting to peel a bit. But it's exactly what I needed. A cheap astronaut helmet for the astronaut suit I already had for my son. Will work great for Halloween, and play thereafter (I'm putting it up until Halloween so it doesn't break before then)

The visor works, and there is a vent for breathing if the visor is down, although it still fits up...

I think it's over priced but it's the best I've found.

It is for Children, yes it's a bit loose/big but I plan to put it on over a hat, since Halloween tends to be cold around here. So it's perfect for me.

Plus, my son thinks it's awesome lol

UPDATE: I'm adding more pics, the helmet looked great with the costume but didn't stay straight on his head, so he ended up taking it off rather quickly during trick or treating (even with a hat under), Granted, he's 2 years old. But the DIY Jet Pack got more compliments... And that thing was just 2 empty 2 liter bottles, duct tape, spray paint, and felt, so....

Regardless he does like to play with the helmet. So it maintains 5 stars, but I do think it's overpriced.

Purchased for my 5-6 year old at ~14usd to go along with an astronaut jumpsuit costume. One size fits all.

THE GOOD: this really does fit all sizes from 5-105, including my 35 year man child of a husband...though his head is on the larger end and his nose gets a tad smushed. Anyway, not an issue as it wasn't intended for him. My 6 yr daughter loves it and she can flip the visor up and down easily. Seeing as how this fits grown men, it does tend to shift around a lot, but that's understandable. The decals are adhered well and I don't forsee them rubbing off at all. It makes my kid happy!

THE BAD: this is cheaper end plastic and pretty lightweight which is also another contributory factor to why its shifts around so easily. It's thick enough to keep it's shape so long as nobody sits on it or stands on it, etc. It's thicker and better than cardboard, but don't expect anything like a motorcycle helmet. It's 14 dollars...which is what I would expect to pay...would not pay more than 20usd unless it was crunch time at Christmas or birthday and nothing else was available.

I initially bought this helmet for my 6 year old to wear on Halloween with his astronaut outfit. It's very cute, but it was too small even for him. He's tall, but certainly not a giant for his age group. However, before I could return it my 3 year old found it and fell in love. It's the perfect size for him and he loves wearing it around and raising/lowering the visor. (We got the Aeromax Jr. Astronaut Helmet with sounds for the big kid, which worked much better).

We ended up getting the 3 year old an astronaut outfit too and wanted to change the logos on the helmet--the American flag is a sticker and easily removable but the NASA logo is silkscreened on. (No big deal, we covered it with a metallic tape logo).

My 2 year old is a huge fan of space things or blasting off to space, so I ordered this for Christmas and it arrived yesterday.
I got a chance to inspect it prior to wrapping it, and the thing is simply awesome. Very light weight so small kids won't have problems pickup and wearing it. Very flexible too, so it wont break if a child falls/steps on it or what not (Not 100% indestructible, but very tot friendly). The adjustable yellow tented visor and mic is too cute and work with ease and the foam rim around the neck adds protection while wearing it.
Very happy with this purchase.

Great value. Affordable and exactly what we were looking for. Our three year old, space-loving boy is a bit of a destructo - so we didn't want to pay too much for a space helmet he could potentially obliterate quickly. We've had it for nearly a week now and the only thing he's wrecked on it is that he's pulled the thin sheets of foam padding from the inside - which doesn't effect the use at all. He still loves it and has been practically living in his new "Space Man" get up. It is a tad flimsy and I expect the foam rim will be torn off at some point as well... but still decent construction for the price and great details.

This is the best deal out there for astronaut helmets! My 1 and 3 year old boys were astronauts for Halloween and these helmets really topped off their costumes and were perfect. The boys played with the helmet for two weeks before Halloween daily and it really held up. There were no scratches on the helmets and all of the logos looked perfect. The boys loved flipping the facial mask portion up an down and it would stay up when they wanted it to not cover their faces. It was lightweight and comfortable for them. The foam strip around the base of the helmet did come off with the boys picking at it , but it didn't impact the look or comfort of the helmet. My kids can destroy almost anything so I'm not blaming the helmet, just stating the facts. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this helmet to anyone looking for a fun costume accessory.

On a whim, I bought this for my nephew a few years ago. He has since had a brother added to the mix and my sister swears that someone has thing damn thing on every single day. It has survived tons of drops and even being thrown across the room by a pissy 4 year old.

I just bought another one for a friend's kiddo and she said it was a big hit and there are even meltdowns when it has to come off before getting in the bath.

I don't know what it is, but kids from 2 - 7 seem to freaking love this thing!

My 10 year old son wanted to be an astronaut for Halloween. We bought an outfit separately, but it didn't come with a helmet. This was perfect, and at the right price. Our only complaint was that it doesn't sit securely on--it is just a dome-type hat that moved around too much when my son ran around. We fixed it by duct-taping a shoelace inside the helmet that he could tie under his chin. I really like that he could raise the visor so he could see better at night while trick-or-treating.

This was a gift for my 6 year old daughter who, at the moment, is space obsessed. She has the melissa and doug space suit but the helmet that came with it is flimsy and doesn't really look like a helmet- so this helmet was perfect to complete her ensemble! It fits her perfectly with a little room. My 9 year old daughter can wear this helmet but just goofing off- it barely fits her! We love all the stickers that come on the helmet to make it look more authentic! Great purchase if you have a little one who wants to be an astronaut when they grow up!
