UPDATE: Customer service kindly reached out to me and sent a replacement charging cable right away. I have amended my rating, as I felt Anker's customer service support has been understanding and professional.
I suspect that the item has a manufacturing defect, as the cable simply quit working after a few months of light use. I bought this cable to use only at home to charge my phone (Apple iPhone 5s). The cable was only used in conjunction with the original apple charging block that was properly surge protected, so i'm not sure what could possibly have caused it to stop working. The unit was tried on several other outlets as well as two different model iPhones that use a lightning charging connection, though the cable still would not charge. The included photo illustrates that the cable does not charge. I would say that while I have had success with another Anker cable of the same make, this is the third time I have had quality control problems with a product bought and sold by Anker. I would love to resolve this with customer service as no one wants to throw money away, though I'm unsure even how to get in contact.
I bought this as a replacement for my iPad Mini 4 cable that had a fray and stopped charging my iPad. This Anker cable is definitely stronger than the original cord that came with my iPad. The rubber coating on this Anker cable definitely has some muscle to it and I can tell by feel alone that it would take lots and lots to get this thing to fray. I feel as if it will last me a very long time. I bought it back in January 2017, and it is now September 2017, and the cord still looks just as good as the day I received it. I use it every single day. I've taken it with me in my car, I've packed it into bags multiple times for trips.... You can't even tell that it's been bent many different times while traveling and whatnot. It literally still looks brand new.
The 3 foot length is great and allows me to charge my iPad while it sits on my dresser. I also love that it comes with a little Velcro thing to tie the cord up a bit if you don't want to use the full 3 feet of it. This is wonderfully convenient when you want to pack it up and travel with it like I do.
If you are needing a lightning cable and have been debating where to get one, debate no further. Anker products are quality and they have great guarantees on them as well. I also own a micro USB cord for my Galaxy S6 phone that is also the Anker brand, and those hold up perfectly as well, better than the original Galaxy cord that came with my device.
You can't beat the price for the quality you're getting here. Anker makes some wicked good products and you can see it and feel it when you hold their charging cables in your hands. Finally, a company that actually cares about its customers and wants you to have quality products. Every other manufacturer should take note.
I'm an Anker fan and customer for life. This is because I have tried many different brands when it comes to aftermarket cords, and once I gave the Anker brand a try, I will honestly never buy from another company ever again.
I bought this cable as a secondary cable, for use in the car, the office or with a portable power bank charger.
After some uses the cable had some drawbacks, the connector was detached at the minimum movement (which did not happen with other cables).
I contacted the Anker support area, they advised me and accompanied me to do some tests. After some checks, we detected a small defect in the connector, so they quickly activated the warranty.
They sent me a new cable, which works perfect, and resolved my problem.
It was a pleasure to feel that the seller cared about my problem and took care of solving it.
This kind of thing is what makes the difference and generates customer loyalty in the long term.
I Definitely recommend Anker, they showed that they can do things right if something goes wrong with their products.
I have been a fan of Anker chargers and cables for many years. Great product quality and superb customer service. I ordered 3 of these Lightning cables recently. One of the cables turned out to be defective. It started charging my iPhone fine but stopped after a few minutes. Tested with a few different devices to make sure it wasn't the device.
I reached out to Anker through Amazon, provided the serial number of the cable and described my issue. A customer service representative, Jade, responded promptly and courteously and sent out a replacement cable with free shipping (even threw in another one for free!).
Regarding durability - I keep the cable connected to an (Anker!) portable charger and my iPhone in my pant pocket. I find that the 2 connection points, USB and lightning connector, are starting to get weak due to being bent almost all the time in those conditions. I don't think my usage is atypical. I was hoping that the Powerline construction was designed to handle such usage.
I ordered this hoping it would last longer than other lightening cables, and I am not disappointed! The cable is obviously more substantial than the original apple cable. It plugs in easily, and charges at the same speed as my original. I read a hack online about reinforcing the wire near the ends with a spring from a retractable pen, but I feel confident that hack was NOT invented for Anker! There is nothing flimsy about the wire coating. This company has my approval, and will have my business for all my charging needs. I will be buying a longer cord for myself, and different colors for my adult children. Offered at such a reasonable price, it is logical to order one for any place that you might charge your phone. One for the car, next to the bed, by the computer, anyplace that you may want to have an extra. It's nice that they are available in multipacks, as well.
I definitely recommend this product.

Best available lightning cable, including price. I love how I can actually get a cord that matches my Black/Grey iPhone and not have to use the white one that Apple provides. Also, it is much more durable and bend proof without being too thick or bulky. I have bought this cord in the 1ft, 3ft, and 6ft sizes and each works great. I also bought some of the Micro USB ones for my non Apple gear and the same applies... THEY'RE AWESOME! I have never had an issue with an Anker product so I am very trusting of their stuff, unlike some other brands out there that sell cables for dirt cheap and then have issues. I would recommend this cord over any other, you really can't beat it.
Worked fine charging my iPhone, but no faster than my Apple charger cable. Anker has fantastic customer service, however. They contacted me to offer a free ugrade to the Anker Powerline II Lightning Cable; I did not realize there was a superior one. Still, it was no speedier with my Apple wall charger nor with another generic one that i had. I reported this to Anker Customer Service, which recommended which of its wall chargers to buy — the PowerPort II. Got it from Amazon for only 12 bucks, and now the Lightning cable does charge my iPhone much more quickly than before. Anker has truly excellent customer service.
I'm a fan of the Anker PowerLine Lightning cables. This 1ft version is a great addition to my collection. For me this 1ft length is great for use with a portable battery and doesn't take up much space as a spare cable or other applications.
I've used mine with the Anker PowerCore 20100 and both have worked perfectly. I have not experienced any "not supported" error message when using this cable with my iPhone with any of the charging sources.
List of devices I've successfully tested with the PowerLine 1ft Lightning cable:
-iPhone 6s
-iPhone 5
-iPad Air 2
-iPad Mini 2
-iPod Nano 7th generation
Overall I'd say it's a top quality Lightning cable and highly recommend it
I purchased this in September 2016 and used it daily in my car. It's been through extremely hot and cold weather, and other abuses. It JUST started malfunctioning today. I know I pay a bit more for this brand of cable, but it lasts a lot longer than the cheap ones. A year and a half of daily use is great. I would normally get about 3 months out of the cheap cables. My family has owned dozens of cables and portable chargers from this brand, from their earlier models to the newest available. They're reliable. I've had other brands overheat and catch fire. I trust this brand to keep in my car and my kids to use in their bedrooms.
I purchased three of these cables for just over $20, so it's much cheaper than the apple cables. That said, it's been two weeks and one of the three is already broken after very light use. It could just be bad luck but it still is a huge bummer to see it fall apart so fast. The other two seem to be working fine, if they last a year I'll add a star but for now it's a 3/5.
-UPDATE-
Anker customer service just contacted me to let me know they are sending me a replacement cable immediately. Because I didn't even ask for this, I am bumping them up to 4 stars as the other two cables are still working and this development is an impressive show that they are willing to make things right. If the thre cables are still working in a few months I will update again and push them to a full 5 star review.
